Photos: Mr. Trump Goes to Washington, Pre-inaugural Festivities and Protests Begin

President-elect Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump arrived in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, hosting a "Make America Great Again" Welcome Celebration concert at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The 45th U.S. president-in-waiting also participated in a series of pre-inaugural rituals and celebrations including a reception at the Trump International Hotel he opened in downtown Washington last year, and placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. The events are a run-up for his swearing-in at noon on Friday. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to come to the National Mall to witness Trump being sworn in as president of the United States, a country marked by political division even as it swept a wave of Republicans into office.  Continue reading...
