Person Struck, Killed by TRE Train, Officials Say

A person died Saturday morning after they were struck by a Trinity Railway Express train.The collision happened just before 8 a.m., according to Dallas Area Rapid Transit spokesman Mark Ball.The train struck the victim at the right-of-way between Commonwealth Drive and Mockingbird Lane, Ball said. DART police are investigating the crash, and have not identified the victim.Shuttles took passengers between the Medical/Market Center station and Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing station while officials cleared the scene.The site of the crash was cleared before 11 a.m., and TRE trains resumed normal operations, Ball said.  Continue reading...
