Person Struck by DART Train After Shooting Randomly in Oak Cliff, Police Say

Updated at 7:10 p.m.: Revised to reflect latest information from police.A DART train struck a person who had been firing a gun randomly Friday evening in east Oak Cliff, authorities said.Police and emergency responders were called to the incident, which took place near South Lancaster Road and East Ledbetter Drive in east Oak Cliff, around 6:15 p.m.Police said the person "began randomly firing a gun" for unknown reasons, then ran and was hit by a passing Blue Line train.Dallas Fire-Rescue urban search and rescue teams were working to free the person from beneath the train.No further details have been released.DART discontinued Blue Line service between Ledbetter Station and VA Medical Center Station and was providing shuttle service between the locations.
