Paul Quinn College President, Two Other Prominent Black Leaders in Dallas Honored for Achievements

Congratulations are in order for three local powerhouses who are being honored by separate institutions for high achievements in their respective fields: Dr. Michael Sorrell, Dr. Rosie Sorrells (no relation), and Frankie Washington.Dr. Michael SorrellDr. Sorrell is president of Paul Quinn College. He transformed a struggling, historically black college in Dallas that had been smothering by financial and legal burdens. Thanks to his efforts, he turned the college and its surrounding community around. Many people and organizations took notice, and honors began to roll in. Even former President Bill Clinton visited the campus while campaigning for his wife, Hillary, in 2016. It was the first time a former or current U.S. president had visited the campus.By now, you've heard that the prestigious Fortune magazine has put Sorrell on its "World's Greatest Leaders" list for 2018. It's a stellar honor that is being roundly praised by media, residents and civic, education and government leaders.
