Parrotheads, There's a Margaritaville Resort Making Its Way to Texas

An existing resort on Lake Conroe north of Houston will be turned into the first Margaritaville-themed getaway in Texas.Margaritaville Holdings is teaming with Songy Highroads of Atlanta and the Wampold Companies of Baton Rouge to convert the 186-acre La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa in Montgomery, Texas, into the themed-resort popularized by singer Jimmy Buffett.The Margaritaville resort is expected to be ready for guests in late summer 2020, according to the company. It plans extensive renovations and will reopen with 360 guestrooms, lakefront villas, signature dining concepts LandShark Bar & Grill and 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, a conference center, golf course and spa. Plus, it will offer that patented "Margaritaville state of mind," said Rick Cunningham, senior vice president of Margaritaville Development.
