Paramedic, Police Use Can of Big Red to Lure Reluctant Patient to Tyler Hospital

Paramedics and police in East Texas went to check on a woman who has a medical condition Tuesday and found her on the floor asking for their help -- she needed a Big Red.Tyler police and paramedics found the woman “scooting around because she didn’t have the strength to stand up,” a paramedic wrote in a Facebook post. She didn’t appear to have life-threatening injuries and they encouraged her to go to the hospital.“‘All I want is a Big Red to drink and I will be fine,’” the woman told them, according to the post.Sgt. Zack Noble made a deal with her: If she went to the hospital, he would go to the store and buy her a Big Red and bring it to the hospital.“I could hardly believe it when Sergeant Noble arrived minutes later at the hospital with an ice cold Big Red for her,” the paramedic wrote in the post.
