An 18-wheeler that overturned prompted closure of southbound R. L. Thornton Freeway near downtown Dallas overnight. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office responded to the highway over the Trinity River, between South Riverfront and East Colorado Boulevards, about 3 a.m. Wednesday. The cause of the crash is not known.
