Opponents of Trinity River Toll Road Dance in the Streets, Celebrating Its Death

Revelers celebrating the death of the Trinity River toll road plan celebrated in the streets of Bishop Arts on Tuesday to the tune of a marching band.Among them was Angela Hunt, the former Dallas City Council member who in 2007 led a failed referendum against the parkway that the current city council finally voted down last week.A park is still in the works, despite a political divide over the roadway lasting more than 10 years.Tuesday night, a group of the road's opponents joined up for drinks at Oddfellows restaurant, paraded to The Wild Detectives bookstore, then celebrated some more.No word on whether any of them fought traffic to drive there.  Continue reading...
