One of Texas' Most Wanted Sex Offenders Captured in Colorado

A North Texas man on the state's 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list was arrested Tuesday in Colorado. Dakota Marcus Stewart was convicted in 2009 of aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child for a Tarrant County case that involved two young girls, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.He has been wanted since August 2017 for failure to register as a sex offender from Mansfield police and failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements out of Dallas County. Stewart, 26, is considered a "high-risk" sex offender, according to DPS. The U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force apprehended Stewart in Florissant, Colorado, west of Colorado Springs. A $5,000 reward was issued for information leading to Stewart's arrest, but because the information did not come through a Texas Crime Stoppers tip, no reward will be paid.   Continue reading...
