Officials Looking for Person of Interest After Dog Dumped in East Oak Cliff

The Dallas Marshal's Office is searching for a person of interest in the injury of a dog that was dumped Sunday in east Oak Cliff. The person of interest is seen in the video about 8:20 a.m. stopping a car in the 4200 block of Bailey Avenue. The man pulls the dog — a pitbull or pit mix — out of the passenger seat and drives away. Officials did not provide further detail about the dog's condition or the extent of its injuries.City Marshal Gary Lindsey said officials want to speak with the man in the video to learn what led up to him taking the dog to Bailey Avenue. The man was driving a black Nissan car with a "distinctive" aftermarket body kit with red trim, officials said.Anyone with information about the man or the car may email the Dallas Marshal's Office environmental crimes unit at dallasenvironmentalcrimes@dallascityhall.com.
