Oak Cliff Man Stabbed Roommate Who Didn't Flush the Toilet, Police Say

Police arrested a man at his east Oak Cliff home after they say he stabbed his roommate in the chest in an argument that started over an unflushed toilet.Officers were called to the home in the 3300 block of South Ewing Avenue, near Holden Avenue, just before 5 p.m. Saturday after a stabbing was reported.A witness told police that Darren Clark, 50, had gotten into an argument with his roommate of three years, Charles Jones, because Jones didn't flush the toilet after using it. Clark pulled out a knife and stabbed Jones, then fled, the witness said.About 30 minutes later, Clark returned to the home and was taken into custody. He confessed to the stabbing during an interview with police, according to his arrest-warrant affidavit.Jones, who had been stabbed twice in the chest and once in his right arm, was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center.Clark was charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon โ€” family violence.
