NTT Data's Office Deal Will Bring Hundreds More Workers to Plano's Legacy

High tech firm NTT Data just signed one of the biggest office leases this year in North Texas.The international telecom firm is renting 200,000 square feet in the former J.C. Penney headquarters building in Plano's Legacy business park.NTT Data - which has its U.S. headquarters in a nearby office high-rise - is the first new tenant in the $400 million redevelopment of the decades old Penney campus on Legacy Drive west of the Dallas North Tollway.NTT Data plans to relocate hundreds of workers into the remodeled building from another location on Plano Parkway near Bush Turnpike. That office and data complex was acquired in a purchase from Dell."The move from Plano Parkway will happen in phases, and we expect all employees to have moved by April 2018," NTT Data spokeswoman Corie Pierce said in an email. "There were a few reasons for the move."We wanted to bring our Plano team members closer together - the drive between our Legacy West headquarters and the Plano Parkway office could easily take 30 minutes or more," Pierce said.
