Northeast Dallas High-rise Evacuated After Computer Catches Fire

A blaze at a northeast Dallas high-rise started Wednesday when a computer caught fire, officials said. Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded about 4:45 p.m. to the 14-story building in the 4900 block of Greenville Avenue where heavy smoke was coming from the fifth floor, department spokesman Jason Evans said. Firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire in a computer room and worked to ventilate smoke from the building, he said. The fire was accidental and the damage was minimal, Evans said. No injuries were reported, and the building staff evacuated according to their pre-existing evacuation plans.  Continue reading...
