A week after the death of Jan Pruitt, the former head of the North Texas Food Bank, the nonprofit has seen an uptick in donations in her memory. Pruitt led the nonprofit for 20 years before stepping down in December. She died Jan. 2 after a battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, Pruitt's family asked that people donate instead to the food bank in her honor, and they did, spokeswoman Anna Kurian said.The final amount was not available Tuesday evening, but the donations will provide more than 200,000 meals, she said.
