New Uptown Dallas Coworking Office Grows by More Than 50%

An Uptown coworking center is growing by more than 50% with a new lease.WorkSuites is adding another floor of office space to its location on Cole Avenue next to the Quadrangle complex.The new shared office operation opened three weeks ago and is already 90% committed to tenants.So WorkSuites has leased another 14,308 square feet of office space to accommodate the expansion."Our 2626 Cole location reflects our new brand and technological enhancements," WorkSuites CEO Flip Howard said in a statement. "Our updated look and feel have been so well received at our location in Legacy which opened earlier this spring, we are not surprised that demand in Uptown has been just as strong."The expanded Uptown operation will open in September.Formerly operating as Meridian Business Centers, WorkSuites has more than a dozen locations in North Texas with plans to add four or five more local coworking centers in the year ahead.John Pelletier and Greg Burns of ESRP negotiated the Uptown lease expansion with Ahnie Sheehy of JLL.Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the fastest growing shared office markets in the country, with more than 3 million square feet of coworking spaces operating or planned.Last year, coworking leases accounted for almost 20 percent of U.S. office leasing, second only to demand  Continue reading...
