New Dallas Police Chief Could Be Hired This Summer

A new Dallas police chief could be hired as early as June. The City of Dallas has received nine proposals from search firms vying to recruit the next top cop. A contract with one of the firms is expected to be ready for city council approval March 22, according to an internal city memo. The goal is to have a candidate picked in June or July. The new chief would replace David Brown, who retired in October after six years as the city's chief of police.
