Nearly 50 Dallas-area Businesses Close in ‘A Day Without Immigrants' Strike

"Un Dia Sin Immigrantes" or "A Day Without Immigrants" isn't taking protest to the streets, but instead is making its point that immigrants are vital to U.S. life by shutting Latino-owned businesses for a day and workers choosing to strike.In the Dallas area, nearly 50 businesses closed their doors. Supermarkets, restaurants, furniture stores and insurance companies are some of the businesses that are participating in the event. El Rancho, with 16 supermarkets across Texas including 13 in North Texas, will reopen on Friday, spokesman Marcos Rubalcava said.  Continue reading...
