NBC 5 Forecast: Winter Won't Go Away Quietly

Meteorological spring begins Friday. We should see the shallow cold airmass retreat to the north ... briefly. Afternoon highs will range from the 50s DFW to the north to the 60s farther southwest. The milder air won't stick around for very long though. The cold air comes plowing back down south Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will drop into the 30s and 40s by early Saturday evening. Scattered rain showers will develop Saturday. On Sunday, if the moisture sticks around while the cold air continues to move south, we could see some showers mix with or changeover to a few snowflakes before coming to an end. Be sure to check back for updates.Additional freezes look to be on the way for us Monday morning through Wednesday morning next week too. FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy. Low: 36. High: 54. Wind: SE 5-10 mph.
