NBC 5 Forecast: Weather Alert Today, Severe Weather Possible

Today is a Weather Alert Day with the potential for severe weather late this afternoon and this evening. A strong south wind will continue around 15-20 mph. That will keep low-level moisture flowing into North Texas from the Gulf of Mexico during the day. That moisture will feed strong to severe thunderstorms later in the afternoon and through the evening hours. Unfortunately, there will be a risk for severe weather with this event. There is the possibility of very large hail, strong straight-line winds, and even tornadoes. While not everyone will see severe weather, everyone should plan for the possibility of it. Please stay alert and check back for updates.Cooler weather will move in Thursday. There's a slight chance for a stray shower leftover in the morning. Otherwise, as we move toward Easter, it finally looks like a rain-free weekend! It will be breezy on Easter Sunday, but at least it will be dry and warm with highs in the lower 80s.
