NBC 5 Forecast: Storms Likely Wednesday Morning

We will be watching a large area of thunderstorms to our west and north this evening and tonight. Those storms will march across western Oklahoma and Northwest Texas through the overnight hours. As the sun rises Wednesday morning, those storms will be moving into western part of North Texas. Those storms will move across the rest of North Texas ... including DFW ... through the rest of the morning hours. For most of DFW, the storms will take place between 7 AM and 10 AM. The storms will have the potential to be severe with damaging winds in excess of 70 mph and hail up to 1 inch in diameter. A few embedded tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Frequent lightning and heavy rain will also accompany the storms in the morning.These storms will likely have a heavy impact on the morning commute. Please plan and adjust your morning routine accordingly.A break from the stormy pattern will settle back in Thursday, but we may have another shot at rain late Friday and into the weekend.
