NBC 5 Forecast: Seasonably Hot for the Last Day of July

Today will be sunny and rain free with highs in the upper 90s to near triple digits. An Ozone Action Day in effect for the DFW area today. Those with respiratory issues should avoid prolonged activities outside. An upper-level ridge of high pressure will dominate North Texas for the rest of the week, keeping it hot and dry with light southeast winds. By late in the week, the center of the ridge of high pressure will move back west and northwest of us. That will open the door for a weak cold front to slide into the area next weekend. It won't have the same cooling effects the previous front had but may give us a couple more storms on Sunday.Latest Forecast TODAY: Mostly sunny and hot. Low: 79. High: 100. Wind: SE 5-10 mph.
