NBC 5 Forecast: Rain Ending Late Tonight

*Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until midnight*Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will continue across the region through tonight. Watch out for high water on the roads! While a few strong storms are possible, widespread severe weather is not anticipated.Rainfall totals were impressive on Tuesday with some areas of Collin County picking up over 8 inches of rain. A few areas west of DFW picked up over 4 inches of rain yesterday and today combined. The threat for heavy rain continues with additional flooding possible Wednesday evening. Flash flood watch remains in effect until midnight for an additional 1-2" of rain on top of what has already fallen. Some areas closer to Waco will see considerably higher totals through tonight.Once this storm system moves away on Thursday, we'll get the chance to clear out and start drying out Friday and through the weekend. Highs will be climbing into the 80s with lots of sunshine on the way.The rest of this week (and weekend) looks very nice with sunshine and temperatures in the 80s.
