NBC 5 Forecast: Cold and Wet Weather Today

Today will be a cold and wet day for North Texas. While it will be all liquid for the DFW area, some areas to the northwest could see a brief round of sleet. For this reason, a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been posted for Wise, Jack, and Palo Pinto counties. This brief sleet could cause a few bridges to become slick. Otherwise, major travel impacts are not expected.The rain will pick-up in intensity for DFW as the day wears on. The heaviest rain will be this afternoon. Temperatures will remain above freezing with a high near 40. Milder weather and sunshine will return tomorrow.The second chance for rain this week comes this weekend. Friday and for the first half of Saturday showers and thunderstorms will move across North Texas. The second half of your weekend is looking much better with sunshine and highs near 62.
