More Apartments and Restaurants Coming at West Dallas’ Trinity Groves

Developers of West Dallas' popular Trinity Groves neighborhood are pushing ahead with a second apartment project.The first 350-unit Cypress at Trinity Groves apartment block on Singleton Boulevard just west of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is starting to open with residential and retail tenants."We have 112 units leased already," said Jim Reynolds, development partner and senior vice president with Trinity Groves Llc. "There are over 60 residents living there now."And out of the 34,000 square feet of retail in the building, we have about 12,000 square feet left."The 5-story apartment and retail building is a project of Columbus Realty Partners and West Dallas Investments.Tenants signed up for the ground floor of the building - which is located across the street from the Trinity Groves restaurant complex - include Steam Theory Brewing Co. with 8,000 square feet and K's Kitchen with a 5,815 square foot location for a new Korean barbeque grill.Morgan Café from Chicago has rented a 2,655 square foot restaurant space.And Bingbox Snow Cream Co. will have a 1,330 square foot shaved ice dessert shop.Texas Capital Bank will locate a 3,800-square-foot retail location in the Cypress at Trinity Groves project.With the success of the first phase, Reynolds said the developers are ready to push ahead with a second, 325-unit apartment building on the adjoining Singleton Boulevard block just to the west.Reynolds said the developers are also talking to office building investors and partners about doing a building overlooking downtown."WE had great response and we are still talking to several people," he said.A 223-room Marriott hotel is in the works for the block that's now the location of a concrete plant near Singleton and Beckley Avenue."We are hopefully going to continue to draw interest and people over here," Reynolds said.
