Money Magazine Ranks Allen No. 2 Place in Country to Launch a Career

The city of Allen already is famous for its $60 million, 18,000-seat high school football stadium. And last year, it ranked second on Money magazine's annual Best Places to Live list. Now, the business magazine says the Collin County suburb is the second best place in the country to launch a career. College grads, take note. "It makes a lot of sense given the type of community, the type of workforce that we have and the diversity of housing options, mixed-use centers and office locations," said Dan Bowman, executive director and CEO of the Allen Economic Development Corporation. "If you're looking to start a career and move it onto the next level, we've really got all the components here in Allen that it would take to make that successful." The publication praised Allen -- a suburb that's about to top 100,000 residents -- for its projected job growth rate of about 17 percent from 2016 to 2021, calling "growth" the "buzzword around Allen."   Continue reading...
