Mocking `rocket Man,' Trump at UN Threatens to `destroy' North Korea If It Ever Attacks

WASHINGTON -- Calling North Korea "depraved" and dangerous, President Donald Trump threatened Tuesday to "totally destroy" the rogue nation if it attacks the United States or an ally."`Rocket man' is on a suicide mission for himself, and his whole regime," Trump said at the United Nations, referring to dictator Kim Jong Un by the same mocking nickname he bestowed via Twitter a few days ago.The nickname refers to the ballistic missiles Kim has launched with increasing accuracy and distance in recent months. Successful launches near and over Japan showcased his regime's technological advances. Recent nuclear tests have also shown growing sophistication and lethality."The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea," Trump said.The general assembly hall was packed to capacity for Trump's speech, his first appearance at the United Nations. Diplomats and leaders on hand greeted him with tepid applause but listened attentively. More enthusiasm selectively punctuated his remarks and he received polite applause when he finished.
