Mesquite Police Arrest Teen With Red Dye Job in Monthlong Robbery Spree

Police have arrested a robbery suspect they believe is behind a monthlong spree targeting Mesquite businesses.Michael Vann Asagba, 19, was booked Thursday on five counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of theft, police say. He's being held in the Mesquite jail with bail still pending.The series of robberies began Feb. 5 and targeted convenience stores, auto parts shops and even a Subway restaurant, all on the city's southeast side, police said.In most of the holdups, the robber threatened the clerk with a handgun and wore a hooded sweatshirt cinched tightly around his face.Witnesses told police the robber fled on foot, leading police to believe he lived in the area.
