Mesquite police on Friday filed a theft arrest warrant against Kevin MaBone, the Wilkinson Middle School teacher's aide who told staff he had cancer, but instead was facing federal charges in West Virginia.MaBone accepted a car and $1,200 on Jan. 20 -- with more than $11,000 more collected in a GoFundMe account about to be donated. Friday Mesquite investigators filed an arrest warrant in Dallas County charging MaBone with theft of $2,500-$30,000 by deception. Bond was set at $10,000, though police say MaBone is currently in federal custody.Police also say a family member of MaBone's turned the car over to authorities and that it is now in the donor's possession.Cash collected at the school was not reimbursed, but GoFundMe donations are being returned.
