McKinney Sexual Predator Sentenced to Life in Prison for Abusing Two Children

A Collin County judge sentenced a McKinney man to life in prison Thursday after he pleaded guilty to sexually abusing two children.Victor Calderon-Cardona, 32, is not eligible for parole, according to a release from the Collin County District Attorney's office.One of his victims, a 10-year-old girl, reported the abuse to a school counselor last year. She told the counselor Calderon-Cardona had abused her for four years.McKinney police investigated the allegation and discovered a second victim, a 12-year-old child, prosecutors said. The two children were interviewed by the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County, and both made an outcry about the abuse.Calderon-Cardona pleaded guilty to charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact. The judge sentenced him to life in prison for the continuous sexual abuse of a child charge, and 20 years for indecency with a child, officials said."These innocent children showed bravery beyond their years and made sure this predator will never again harm another child," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said in a statement.  Continue reading...
