Mansfield Police Shoot Man Who Wouldn't Drop Gun as He Waved It Around Inside IHOP

A man waving his gun around inside an IHOP was shot by Mansfield police Tuesday morning after he refused to drop his weapon, officers said.The man, who has not been identified, was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition.It happened around 3:30 a.m. at an IHOP at U.S. Highway 287 and Debbie Lane, said police, who responded to 911 calls coming from inside the restaurant.Employees and customers were safely evacuated before officers ordered the suspect to drop his weapon. An officer then shot him when he refused to comply, police said.The officer involved in the shooting is a well-trained department veteran, Mansfield police Sgt.
