Man Who Stabbed Co-worker to Death at Grapevine Business Gets 35 Years

A Tarrant County man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for murdering a co-worker after they got into a fight at a Grapevine business last year.Joe Barron, 35, who also goes by Jose Valentine Barron, is appealing the case. He was convicted Thursday on one count of murder in the slaying of 42-year-old Ricardo Muniz of Irving.According to witnesses, Barron and Muniz started arguing the morning of March 1, 2017, at Butterfly Valves & Controls, where they were both temporary workers. Barron stabbed Muniz with a knife and then ran away from the scene in the 600 block of Industrial Boulevard.Muniz was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.Police arrested Barron at a nearby business.  Continue reading...
