Man Threatened Pair With Gun After Taking Their Phones, Mesquite Police Say

Mesquite police are on the lookout for a man who reportedly threatened two people with a handgun after taking their phones. The man is accused of taking two cell phones that had been left on the grass near the basketball courts at Pirrung Elementary School in Mesquite.When the two people who owned the phones confronted the thief, he threatened the owners with a handgun and ran off into the neighborhood, police said. No injuries were reported. He is described as a 6-foot-1 black male who is between 17 and 20 years old. He has a medium build and short hair and was wearing a green T-shirt, black athletic shorts and black shoes.Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000.00 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment.
