Man Threatened Mail Carrier, Stole Her Truck and Crashed It, Fort Worth Police Say

A man was arrested Tuesday after a mail carrier reported he'd threatened her and stolen her truck, which was later involved in a hit-and-run accident.Fort Worth police charged Jerome Douglas, 32, with aggravated robbery.The postal worker was in the 3600 block of Millet Avenue in southeast Fort Worth when he approached her and threatened to hurt her around 1 p.m., she told police. He followed her to her delivery truck and entered the vehicle, she said, so she jumped out before he drove away in it.Soon after, a citizen reported that the truck had hit their vehicle in the 4200 block of Avenue J, about a mile away from the robbery, and fled.Police took Douglas into custody without incident and requested medical treatment for a possible heroin overdose, spokesman Bradley Perez said.  Continue reading...
