Man Threatened His Sister With a Butcher Knife When She Complained About His Febreze, Dallas Police Say

An argument that started with someone using too much Febreze ended with a central Oak Cliff man threatening his sister with a butcher knife, Dallas police say.Officers were called to a home in the 900 block of Ryan Circle, near West Kiest Boulevard and South Polk Street, around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.A woman at the home told police that the incident started when her brother, 22-year-old Demarcus Ge Nard Gillespie, started spraying Febreze in a bedroom. When she complained that it was too much, he threw the Febreze across the room.The woman said she put the Febreze on a dresser, but her brother picked it up and threw it again.When she got up and walked toward Gillespie, his arrest-warrant affidavit says, he pushed her back down onto the bed and started to choke and punch her, stopping only when a cousin walked into the room. She told police that she may have been briefly unconscious.The cousin told police he pulled Gillespie off the woman but that the altercation continued in the living room.Gillespie pushed his sister down to the floor, then went into the kitchen and grabbed a butcher knife, his great-grandmother said. He walked back into the living room with the knife in his right hand and said, "I will kill you," she said.Gillespie then put the 8.5-inch knife back in the kitchen and left the home.  Continue reading...
