Man, Teenage Girl Accused of Bringing 2 Victims From Austin to San Antonio for Prostitution, Police Say

A 28-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman are in custody after police say they took two people from Austin to San Antonio to force them into prostitution.Kenneth Noel and Ciria Chavez face charges of aggravated promotion of prostitution after San Antonio police found them at a hotel March 29.One of the victims became suspicious of the suspects and secretly contacted a relative from her cellphone, periodically sending her location on their route to San Antonio, according to Austin television station Fox7.Police said that when the victims realized they were traveling out of Austin, they asked to stop but were ignored, the station reported. The suspects later told them that until they paid an "exit fee" they would have to work as prostitutes.Noel and Chavez are in the Bexar County Jail, where bail has been set for Noel at $75,000 and at $25,000 for Chavez.  Continue reading...
