A Parker County man was arrested Sunday after allegedly shooting a woman in an argument over who had won a street race.William Ross Burger, 19, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remained in the Parker County jail Tuesday with bond set at $152,638.20.Two groups of people had been racing last weekend at the Mineral Wells airport when a fight erupted over which group was winning, according to the Parker County Sheriff's Department. They left the airport, but the fight continued at a local department storeThey met up again at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Maddux Road, where Burger slapped a member of the opposite group, who punched Burger in the nose, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.The groups reportedly split up again but kept fighting over social media, then agreed to meet in the 1000 block of Ballew Springs Road, near Lake Mineral Wells, around 3 a.m.When the second group arrived, investigators say, Burger shot into the vehicle, hitting a woman in the passenger's seat.The victim was hit in the right thigh, according to the Parker County Sheriff's Office. She was treated and released from a hospital.Officials said they found a .22 rifle and a shell casing at the scene.Burger also had two outstanding warrants for failure to appear and driving while license invalid.
