Man Shot Theft Suspect in Walmart Parking Lot After Argument, Police Say

A theft suspect was hospitalized in serious condition after threatening another man, who then shot him several times in a Walmart parking lot Monday night, Red Oak police say.Max Jesse Pryor, 33, "had just committed several thefts of merchandise" when he got into an argument outside the main doors with a man and his family, police said. Authorities said he also argued with store employees after they tried to detain him.When they reached their vehicles, Pryor sped toward the family, hit the driver's side window of their vehicle and threatened to kill the man inside around 11:15 p.m., according to police.Pryor then opened the driver's side door, police said, and the driver shot him several time in the hand and pelvic region.The shooter fled the parking lot with his family but returned as police investigated the scene.
