Man Shot in Leg Outside Northwest Dallas Gas Station

A man was shot in the leg Monday afternoon outside a gas station in northwest Dallas, police said.Officers were called about 2:45 p.m. to the Race Trac gas station at 2807 West Northwest Highway, where a 41-year-old man inside store told police he had been shot.The man said he was walking with a friend when a man approached him with a gun.The man started running and heard two gunshots, he told police. He said he felt one of the rounds strike his leg as he ran into the gas station.He was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital for his injuries, which police said are not expected to be life-threatening.Police described the suspect as a black man between 25 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and 230 pounds.
