Man Running From Police Carjacks Person, Crashes, Hides in Open Garage in Far Northeast Dallas

A man carjacked a person Wednesday afternoon before crashing and running into a home in far northeast Dallas, where he was arrested. For an unknown reason, police were chasing the man on foot about 4:30 p.m. when he went into a wooded area near Abrams Road and Chimney Hill Lane, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported. NBC5's helicopter captured video of the armed man coming out of the woods and carjacking a person in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 12200 block of Abrams Road, the station reported. Shortly after, he crashed into a pole then ran away, jumped a fence into a backyard and went into an open garage in the 12200 block of Jackson Creek Drive.
