Man Fatally Shot in South Dallas; Gunman at Large

Updated on April 27: Revised to include the victim's name and details about the suspect. A man was fatally shot Friday night in South Dallas and the person who shot him has not been found, police say.Officers found the victim shortly before 11 p.m. after they were called to South Harwood Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.The victim, who was identified as 59-year-old Randolph Mays, was pronounced dead at Baylor University Medical Center. Witnesses said they saw a man approach the victim, fire several rounds and run away toward U.S. Highway 75, police say. The gunman was described as being about 200 to 250 pounds and was wearing dark clothes and white shoes at the time. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 214-671-3646.
