Man at Center of Pleasant Grove Standoff Accused of Fatal Shooting Days Earlier on the Same Block

A 33-year-old man at the center of a standoff last week in Pleasant Grove faces a murder charge in connection with a fatal shooting days earlier on the same block.Jesus Rodriguez was booked into the Dallas County Jail early Thursday. He is being held on charges of murder and aggravated assault. Police said the murder charge was in connection with the slaying of 46-year-old Jose Acosta, who was found shot to death Aug. 10 in the 2000 block of Las Cruces Lane, near Bruton Road and Loop 12.Acosta's wife and son found him with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body, a family member wrote on a GoFundMe page for the man's family. "This was a senseless murder," the page says. "Please help with this unexpected tragedy that has left this family without a husband, father, caregiver and pillar."   Continue reading...
