Man, 28, Killed Outside Red Bird Apartment Complex

A 28-year-old man was killed Sunday night near a Red Bird apartment complex in one of three separate shooting incidents overnight. Officers responded to a shooting call around 11 p.m. in the 4100 block of Preferred Place near Camp Wisdom Road. Andre Montez Gibson had been shot while standing outside. He was taken to the hospital where he died, police said. The shooter has not been identified. Police are also investigating two other shootings, including an incident in which two men were shot in Pleasant GroveThe men were shot shortly before 4 a.m. Monday at a home in the 7800 block of Dasch Street near Hillburn Drive. They went to a convenience store in the 400 block of South Buckner Boulevard to call police before going to a home in the 300 block of Longbranch Lane, where they spoke with officers, police said. The men were taken to the hospital in stable condition. About an hour later, police responded to a shooting call in the 7000 block of Lake June Road near Jim Miller Road in Pleasant Grove. Police believe the incident may have started as a robbery. The victim and the suspect were both shot during a fight. Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to arrive.
