Make a Severe Weather Plan Before Spring Storms Hit Dallas-Fort Worth, Experts Say

When spring arrives in Dallas-Fort Worth, so does the potential for severe weather, and the best time to prepare for it is now — before it’s even in the forecast.“So many people are caught off-guard when it comes to severe weather because they only think about it when it is occurring,” said Rick Mitchell, KXAS-TV (NBC5) chief meteorologist.Mitchell urges anyone worried about dangerous weather to put a plan in place, and make sure everyone in your home or workplace is on the same page.“People need to stop and think about where they would go and what they would do if severe weather was moving into their area,” Mitchell said.It’s important to know where to go during a tornado or a severe thunderstorm, said Travis Houston, emergency management specialist for the city of Dallas.  Continue reading...
