Major GOP Mental Health Bill Backed by Gov. Greg Abbott Killed by North Texas Tea Party Legislator

AUSTIN — A major mental health bill backed by Republican leadership has died at the hands of a North Texas tea party lawmaker.Rep. Jonathan Stickland brought down the bill using a legislative procedural tactic on Tuesday evening, less than a week before state lawmakers wrap up their 2019 session. The legislation has little to no chance of being revived this year."It did not respect parental rights.
