Lion Cub Makes Public Debut at Dallas Zoo

For the first time in 43 years, a lion cub is on the prowl at the Dallas Zoo.Bahati, born March 17, made her public debut Friday with her mother Lina and her aunt Jasiri. The 13-pound cub pounced on the other lion's tails and played in the grass while Lina kept a watchful eye.Zoo veterinarians intervened with the birth and delivered the cub by C-section. Lina had previously delivered two stillborn cubs. Her full name, Bahati Moja, means "lucky one" in Swahili.Bahati will now be making regular appearances in the habitat, and will soon meet her father Kamau, who will rejoin the rest of the pride.  Continue reading...
