Lime Warns Riders: Some Scooters Experience ‘sudden Excessive Braking' While Going Downhill

Lime, whose electric scooters dot sidewalks around Dallas, has warned riders of an issue with the vehicles that can cause them to unexpectedly brake while at top speed.The company said a series of firmware updates would fix the issue and would be completed soon. In the meantime, riders were urged to use extra caution — especially when riding downhill.In a statement posted to its website Saturday, Lime said some scooters were experiencing “sudden excessive braking” while in use, most often while traveling downhill at top speed.
