Lessons Learned in Attacks From Boston to Britain Shared at Dallas Conference

In Boston, the bad guys targeted the finish line at the city's famed marathon. In the United Kingdom, they plowed a van into pedestrians on a bridge and set off a bomb outside a concert venue. And, of course, last year brought bloodshed home to Dallas.Hundreds of people at a security conference Wednesday in Dallas got to hear about the heroes in Boston and across the Atlantic: law enforcement officials who responded to the attacks and were tasked with investigating them.Ed Davis, the Boston police commissioner in 2013, had dropped by the Boston Marathon just hours before explosions went off near the finish line.The ground was soaked in blood by the time he got a glimpse of the damage.
