Lancaster Man Posed as Girl on Instagram to Extort Nudes From Preteens, Feds Say

A Lancaster man was indicted Wednesday of posing as a 13-year-old girl as Instagram to swap nudes with underage boys.Latodd Detray Alexander, 30, faces a federal charge of attempted production of child pornography.Lancaster police were tipped off to the case Dec. 13, when officials from North Carolina said a 12-year-old boy had sent nude photographs of himself to an Instagram user who claimed to be a girl of the same age but was actually a man in Lancaster.The boy alerted an adult when the Instagram user, hotgirl8887, responded to the photographs with a request that he film himself engaging in a sex act with his younger sister, according to a criminal complaint.Alexander sent nude images of an underage girl to young boys on Instagram and asked them to respond with photographs of themselves, the criminal complaint said. Several boys, ranging from 10 to 17 years old, did so.In several instances, Alexander then asked the boys to film themselves performing sex acts on their younger sisters, and threatened to release the nude photographs of the boys if they did not comply, according to the complaint.Alexander remained in the Kaufman County jail Thursday.  Continue reading...
