‘La Bamba' Actor Must Not Drink for Two Years in South Texas Plea Deal

Actor Lou Diamond Phillips has entered into a plea deal after his November arrest in South Texas on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.The actor best known for "La Bamba" and "Stand and Deliver" must not drink alcohol for two years, according to the deal, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported.Phillips was accompanied by his father during Wednesday's appearance at the San Patricio County Courthouse. He was sentenced to two years probation after pleading guilty, attorney Mark DiCarlo told the newspaper.Other requirements of the plea deal include staying away from bars, participation in a DWI education program and use of an alcohol-monitoring device.
