Kohl's Closing Stores and Dallas Customer Service Center That Employs 300

Kohl's plans to close its Dallas customer service center shifting jobs to its two similar operations in San Antonio and Milwaukee. Kohl's also said in a late filing Thursday that it would be offering voluntary retirement program company-wide to workers over 55 with at least 15 years of experience. The North Dallas facility at 17655 Waterview Parkway employs 300 people and at one time the Wisconsin-based retailer had promised to hire at least 1,000 people to keep economic development funds.The City of Dallas said it would give Kohl's an economic development grant not to exceed $500,000 if all 1,000 jobs were created by April 2018.Kohl's hasn't been reached for comment.The closing of the Dallas center was first reported on the website of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel late Thursday. Kohl's told the newspaper it planned to add 100 new jobs to the Milwaukee customer service center and 300 to the one in San Antonio.Kohl's leased the 230,000-square-feet of office space in Dallas in 2014.Kohl's also said it will close four unprofitable stores in Houma, Louisiana; Lenexa Kansas; and Rego Pak and Valley Stream, New York.
